Dr. Noyan Moy Tripura, a prominent physician from Khagrachhari, has issued a statement recognizing the exceptional contributions of Dr. Joya Chakma, Senior Consultant (Gynecology & Obstetrics) at Khagrachhari District Sadar Hospital.
According to Dr. Tripura, many are unaware that Dr. Joya Chakma is a respected Master Trainer on Gender-based Violence (GBV) in Bangladesh, who trains other physicians on this critical subject. Despite shortages of doctors, nurses, modern equipment, bed capacity, and other infrastructural limitations, Dr. Joya Chakma has continued to provide relentless service to patients. Her efforts played a central role in Khagrachhari District Sadar Hospital achieving the #1 position in Chattogram Division and #5 nationwide.
Furthermore, the hospital has received three national awards for excellence in emergency maternal healthcare—an achievement made possible largely due to the tireless work of Dr. Joya Chakma and her department.
